How Canada supports businesses via immigration

Canada's business immigration programs aim to create a "win-win" situation for both the Canadian business owners as well as the business immigration applicants. To qualify, the foreign investor must demonstrate relevant skills, extensive business experience and high liquid assets. Additionally, the foreign investor must present a feasible and practical business plan. Upon eligibility and consequently the approval of the business immigration application, the government of Canada would grant the foreign investor and his/her spouse and all minor children entry to Canada and/or residency status with a path to Canadian citizenship.

There are different business immigration programs available at the Federal and Province level. Both Federal and Provincial programs are structured with one main goal, and that is to provide stimulus and support to the Canadian business sector, with great emphasis on small businesses. The Canadian governments recognise the economical value and impact of small businesses in canadian communities and through such programs they attempt to support them by connecting the employers and business owners to foreign investors financial resources and diverse business experience.

Furthermore, many of Canada's business immigration programs are geared specifically towards maintaining and growing job creation in the small business sector. There are many programs that put significant weight on succession plans, that is if the foreign investor purchases a existing business whose owner is retiring. It is through this type of programs that retiring business owner is rewarded by selling the business usually higher than market value, many local jobs are saved because the business is kept open, funded and run by its new owner and the foreign investor's immigration and business goals are realized...indeed a win-win scenario!
